Flufenacet is taken up by the leaves (mainly the coleoptile) and roots of the plant and moves through the plant through the xylem and phloem to the meristem tissue zone. The main area of absorption and impact on grass weeds is the germinating germ (coleoptile).
Diflufenican is absorbed through both the roots and the germinating seed and then diffuses into the meristem tissue. When applied to leaves, good coverage is required because its translocation is limited.
After treatment with Battle™ Delta Herbicide, weed growth slows down within hours and visible symptoms appear after a few days. White/purple discolored areas appear in the area of contact with the herbicide. These discolored areas gradually grow, plants curl and die within 2-4 weeks, depending on weed size and environmental conditions. Susceptible wheat weeds often fail to emerge from the soil.
